The sweet rivalry between the Syracuse Orange and the Georgetown Hoyas continued when the two teams clashed last night. The Hoyas got off to a good start by opening the game with a 14-0 run. But the Orange players regrouped and worked on their fastbreak, managing to grab the lead at halftime, 34-29. Kris Joseph was a key element at the early portions of the game by sinking in 5 points. He was also the central player in the 11-0 Syracuse run at the end of the half.
Syracuse Orange defeated the Georgetown Hoyas by a huge margin of 17 points (73-56). During the second half, Wes Johnson and Arinze Onuaku provided excellent defense that fired up the Syracuse towards the victory. Kris Joseph and Andy Rautins lead the scoring department for Syracuse with 15 points each. Johnson added 14. Georgetown was lead by their usual top scorer, Austin Freeman, with 25 points.
